Program Overview

The CCMA program is designed to train students in essential clinical and administrative skills. Students gain experience in areas such as minor office surgeries, EKGs, phlebotomy, injections, X-ray procedures, and patient care. The curriculum includes 30 blood draws and 10 EKGs performed in a classroom setting, ensuring that graduates are well-prepared for real-world medical environments. The program also provides externship opportunities through partnerships with over 100 medical facilities in Georgia, helping more than 90% of graduates secure employment.

Flexible Schedules

The program offers daytime and evening classes to suit different lifestyles:

  • Daytime Classes: Run for 11 weeks, meeting Tuesday through Thursday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
  • Evening Classes: Run for 13.8 weeks, meeting Monday through Wednesday from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Some evening classes also include Thursday sessions during specific periods.

Both options require students to complete an 80-hour externship in a medical setting, typically during weekday hours.

Tuition and Payment Plans

With a $3,000 total cost, the tuition includes textbooks, a scrub top, supplies, a background check, and externship placement. Students can opt for a $500 deposit and pay the remaining balance through weekly payments of $272 or bi-weekly payments of $544. A 10% tuition discount is available for military members and veterans, making the program even more accessible.

Financial aid is available through the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), which covers tuition, textbooks, supplies, and other fees for eligible individuals.

Prerequisites

To enroll in the CCMA program, students must meet the following requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years old.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED.
  • Own or purchase a blood pressure cuff and stethoscope (available at ACI for $40).
  • Complete a Basic Life Support (BLS) Heartsaver for Healthcare Providers course (offered at ACI for $80).
  • Submit a resume.

These prerequisites ensure students are prepared for both classroom instruction and practical training.

Certification and Career Readiness

Upon completing the program, students are eligible to take the National Certification Exams for CCMA, EKG, and Phlebotomy through the National Healthcareer Association. This certification opens doors to roles in physician offices, urgent care centers, and other medical facilities. ACI’s strong externship network ensures that students gain valuable field experience, with the majority of graduates transitioning directly into employment.
